Day 12: Proud Mama

I  have a take a moment to brag about my son!  Last night he was honored at a local showcase.  Of the 15,000 high school seniors in the county, he was one of the 400 chosen to be part of an event that honors senior high school students who participate in a variety of extracurricular activities, but most importantly, exhibit positive choices.

I had no idea what to expect.  This event started over 18 years ago as a fashion show to promote a tuxedo shop for prom wear.  Now, the owner has taken it upon himself to create an event that allows local high school seniors to participate with students from other schools.  It all started with 30 students on one night.  Now it is a 5 night event!  The students get to walk the runway while the announcer proudly shares all the students’ accolades.  While over 70 students rocked the runway last night, each student was recognized, acknowledged and made to feel special.

And each parent in attendance felt the same way!
