Moving Day 1
Today we drove 2 hours in the misty, rainy, foggy weather to start to move our daughter home from the University of Toledo. She still has a month of school, but she has accumulated quite a bit of “stuff” while as school. Her Grammy has helped for sure.
Grammy lives less than an hour from campus, so she likes to bring my daughter things she might need. Gotta love grandmas!
Since we are staying home for spring break, we figured, why not go to Toledo? Bring a load back, have lunch, see the house she is renting for next year, and hang out a bit.
All in all it was a nice day. In less than 4 weeks, we will have her back home full time. That will only last a couple months before she heads back down to school.
Go Rockets!
I used to like to go to their college for a visit, feed them, buy them stuff, fill up on hugs.

Sounds like a day made for fun being together and getting a start on the chore of moving. I’m counting down weeks (6) until my son and his family arrive for a three week visit. Their home is in Ecuador.

That is so far away! I’m sure you’ll treasure every moment with them.

Gotta love grandmas! That made me smile – Grandma (my mom) was just visiting for Easter & she definitely contributed to the stuff in our house. She does every time 🙂

This takes me back to those magical four years when each summer brought our son one year closer to really leaving home. (You already have pets. Don’t get another puppy!) “Gotta love grandmas!” when my son would come home, he’d find his grandma waiting for him. By that time, she had joined us in our home, was sharing daily life with us. It was one of the joys of the extended family to bring him into that enhanced circle of love, an even warmer hug! Enjoy every moment.

My uncle went to school there. I hope she’s enjoying it as much as he did. That said, I’m sure she’s glad to be home.
